(the) Urban League
the Urban League [the Urban League] (also the National Urban League)
a US organization of people who work without pay to help ↑African Americans and other ↑minority groups to gain equal rights. It was established in 1910 and now has many local groups that train minorities for jobs and help them to receive health care and other support.
